WHEN: August 2013

WITH: One of my best friends Alyce!

WHY: We were both teaching in London and had just finished the end of the school year and went on a 3 week vacation around Europe!

HOW LONG: We stayed in Athens for 2 nights

1. Acropolis & Parthenon
2. Temple of Zeus
3. Agora

SKIP: Doing a tour - This is a city that you can definitely do independently.

TRY: Greek Yogurt Smoothie - I had mine with honeydew melon and it was amazing!

WHY GO: Athens is one of the worlds oldest cities, and is often called the birthplace of democracy. This place is perfect for any History buff but also for anyone who just loves ancient architecture. The Acropolis and Parthenon as well as many other ancient Greek structures are breathtaking in their large stature.

SOUVINEER(S): A Greek Vase, plus plenty of olives that now live in my belly!
