Flashback Friday - Sydney Australia

WHERE: Sydney, Australia  8/10

HOTEL/HOSTEL: Formula One - now called - Hotel Ibis Sydney East    2/10

- okay location - walking distance to main sites
- inexpensive

- the rest are cons... not recommended to stay here

WHEN: December 2010

WITH: My best friend Ivy and my brother Tim

WHY: Ivy and I were living in Queensland Australia and my brother came to visit

HOW LONG: We stayed in Sydney for 3 nights

1. Sydney Harbour (Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge)
2. Take the Ferry to Manly
3. Royal Botanical Gardens

SKIP: the Habour Bridge climb - unless it is a bucketlist item for you. If not, it is quite expensive at around $200 and you can get great views from all over Sydney - such as Sydney Tower or on a ferry etc for a fraction of the cost. Plus it looks hella scary!
TRY: I must say there is some pretty good Thai food in Australia - I had the best pad thai of my life in the kings cross area, but fish and chips is always a good choice as well.
And you cannot go to Australia without eating TimTams!

WHY GO:The Sydney Opera House is just a beautiful building and is a must see if you go to Australia. But Manly was probably my favourite part - its got a nice national park where you can go a little hike, plus its got a beautiful beach and just amazing views!

SOUVENIR(S): I bought a wooden painted vase and a boomerang!
